“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for weight control.”
~Ashley Fenzl Crossman~
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day…. you’ve heard that statement more times than you want to remember. If you are still not eating breakfast regularly EVERYDAY you simply just are not experienced the life you could be having. This one little step of having a good meal within 1 hour of waking up will help you lose weight, stay mentally sharp, be more energetic without needing coffee, and set your body’s metabolism up for a successful day.
Here are some reasons to start up your day with a healthy meal tomorrow:
1. Break your fast
break(verb) + Fast(noun)
Depending on your weight you could be burning 500 calories or more during your sleep. While your body is doing a Fast every night during sleep there are a number of crucial processes happening. Energy is required to restore of chemical imbalances, growth hormones are thickening and lengthening bones, muscles are get repaired and remodeled. When you wake up whether you realize it or not you are HUNGRY! When you skip your breakfast studies show you are prone to consuming far more calories the rest of the day to make up for the one meal you should not have skipped.
2. Breakfast = Steady maintainable weight loss
78% of participants in The National Weight Control Registry’s landmark study of 629 women and 155 men who lost an average of 66 pounds and maintained it for 5 years ate breakfast.
3. Higher Energy – A proper breakfast will keep your energy up all day.
If you eat the right breakfast, especially one low in sugar and with whole grains, it will keep your body energy up all day by keeping your body’s blood sugars up. Your body converts that meal(carbohydrates, proteins, and fats) into blood sugars to power your brain, nervous system, muscular system, and many other tissues throughout your body. Maintaining your blood sugar levels is essential for a productive body. If you want more energy reach for breakfast instead of a coffee because it will provide you with REAL energy and help the processes in your body run properly. People who do not eat breakfast almost always look, feel, and have less energy than someone who eats breakfast regularly.
4. Boost your concentration by eating breakfast
If you feel scatterbrained in the morning or you have a hard time focusing on the task you are working on eating breakfast could be the solution. Once your brain has been supplied with energy it will be able to work…. Imagine that!
Here are some examples of a stellar breakfast that will give you an amazing start to your day are:
- Rolled Oat Porridge with a poached egg or egg whites
- Wholegrain toast with avocado, salmon and some fresh fruit on the side
- Buckwheat pancakes with a fruit topping
- Quinoa with some natural yogurt, fruit, and cinnamon.
- Mixed veggie omelet burrito
- A Whole wheat pita stuffed with scrambled eggs
- Low/No processed sugar cereal like Muesli and some scrambled eggs
The bottom line is having breakfast is great for your bottom line in more ways than just 4. A great breakfast is the first key to high productivity, high energy, good health, and steady maintainable weight loss. Get started tomorrow with breakfast.
