Developing a Nutritiously Winning Attitude: Day 2 of 90 of an Edmonton Personal Trainer’s Own Fitness Challenge

Today was another successful day, day 2 of 90 for me, of eating highly nutritious ‘clean’ foods. I say clean because there is no fat, no sugar, and pretty much no bad stuff in my meals today. I LOVE every minute of it too. Every time I’ve made a change in my life the difference was always made in the attitude I took when I took on the challenge. As I reflect on path that got me into being a personal trainer in Edmonton and how I lost 81 pounds in 7 ½ months 3 years ago. I realize that my mindset was what made the difference.
There are many ways I can look at my personal challenge:
- 88 Days left oh God what I get myself into.
- Oh Geez I want to try that cookie.
- The road trips I’ll be taking to the United States in March and April it’ll be so hard to maintain my regime maybe I should start later.
- OR how everyday my body is getting healthier, my fitness is going to the next level, and how great it’ll be to walk on the beach this summer in the best shape of my life.
I ALWAYS FOCUS ON WHAT I WANT. When I focus on what I want I get it. In the past when I focus on obstacles ………… amazingly I get obstacles. When my mind is set to what I want nothing fazes me. I could have the world’s best pastry chef
With his most sweet calorie loaded creation and I’m happy to take pass on it because what I want in the end is more important to me.
“The starting point of all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desire brings weak results, Just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat.” ~Napoleon Hill
I have a deep desire to have the best body that can be chiseled out of the materials handed to me at birth. I have made that desire stronger than a fleeting moment with a pastry, a bag of chips, and yes … even a six pack of Canadian. My desire to be doing this today is also stronger than my desire to delay it even till tomorrow. Instead I visualize and feel how it’ll be great to hang out at the beach this summer free of that insecure mental chatter.
“Life is now. There was never a time when your life was not now, nor will there ever be.”~Eckhart Tolle
Some of the tools that I use to reaffirm my desire daily is a vision board and I will be discussing this in a future blog post. I’m sure the question is also being asked “What do I do when I have to go out to eat?” …. I’ll also answer that one in an upcoming blog post.
I had 5 meals today:
- Breakfast: Mixed Veggie Omelet with Oatmeal.
- Snack: Chicken Breast with Chick Peas and uncooked baby Carrots (Small meal)
- Lunch Chicken Breast with Kidney Beans and uncooked baby Carrots ( Slightly larger portion)
- Snack Chicken breast with Chick peas and Mixed veggies(Snack size)
- Dinner Chicken breast with Chick Peas and uncooked baby Carrots(yes again very similar busy day I batch cooked today’s meals)
- Snack: Apple
Today I took a rest from working out. Tomorrow I’ll be working on joint mobility and flexibility exercises.
